Mathematical inquiry questions,which embody the spirit of inquiry learning,play a nonnegligible and important role in developing students' innovative consciousness and practical ability.Therefore,improving students' ability of independent analysis and problem solving is more and more favored by all kinds of test propositions setters.However,in the process of solving the inquiry questions,students often have great difficulties in understanding the meaning of the questions,and even rising a serious feeling of fear in the process of reading the questions.So is there a significant correlation between the mathematics reading status of junior high school students and the students' ability to solve inquiry problems?Whether we can use data to illustrate this correlation?Through literature research,questionnaire survey,statistical analysis and other methods,this study investigated and tested junior high school students' mathematical reading status and mathematical inquiry problems solving ability.To understand the current situation of junior high school students' mathematical reading and the solving ability of inquiry problems,and to analyze the correlation between the junior high school students' mathematics reading status and the solving ability of inquiry problems.This paper probes into the influence of cognition and motivation,interest and attitude,habit,strategies,metacognition and ability in mathematical reading on the inquiry problems solving ability.And also from the point of view of mathematical reading,this paper puts forward some teaching suggestions on how to improve the students' ability of solving inquiry problems.The study found that:Firstly,most junior high school students' mathematics reading level and the solving ability of inquiry problem are both in the middle level,the junior high school students' mathematics reading status and the solving ability of inquiry problem are generally related.And the students with higher scores of mathematics reading also have higher scores in inquiry problem solving.Secondly,the correlation between different components of mathematics reading and problem-solving ability is different.The three most related dimensions are metacognition of mathematical reading,mathematics reading strategy and mathematics reading ability.Thirdly,the status of mathematics reading has a significant positive effect on students' ability to solve inquiry problems.The simple regression model:y =-7 + 0.363x + ?.According to the above conclusion,in practical teaching,students' ability to solve inquiry problems can be improved by promoting the development of students'mathematical reading,and then enhance students'independent learning ability and innovation quality.Finally,the article puts forward nine teaching suggestions from the angle of mathematics reading.
