Classical reading is an activity for children to read,recite and recite Chinese traditional classics.It is an important content in elementary school Chinese teaching and plays an important role in promoting Chinese traditional culture,improving students core accomplishment and improving their personality.In ancient China,classical recitation teaching was paid great attention to since the education of Mongolian.Although many experts,scholars and first-line teachers have gained in the theory and practice of classical reading,they have not formed a complete theory system.This paper discusses the teaching of classical reading in elementary school in the Cantonese dialect area: first,it introduces the present situation of classical reading teaching in elementary school,and surveys the teaching status of elementary school teachers,students 'learning interest and ability by means of questionnaires and interviews.The results of the survey are compared with the teaching objectives of the "Chinese Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education" and the "Core Literacy of Chinese Students".Then,according to the current problems,the corresponding teaching strategies are designed,and the teaching methods of teachers and students are adjusted.Finally,according to the language characteristics of the Cantonese dialect area,the teaching activities of Cantonese classical recitation are designed.In conclusion,this paper hopes to make the local schools,teachers and parents pay enough attention to the classical reading teaching in the Cantonese primary school,and to some extent make up for the deficiency of the classical reading teaching in the Cantonese district.
