Educational Drama: A Way Of Value Education In Primary Schools

As a burgeoning educational media,Drama in Education(DIE)provides students a way to explore unknown future life.In the virtual drama world,students experience the things that might occur to them in their future,so as to get integrated cognitivon,rich emotion and high realm of life,it,nonetheless a good way to educate primary students.This paper will mainly focus on the question that how does DIE perform its function to get students well-educated in value education through emotional experiences based on empathy.This paper starts its research based on two theories,they are Empathy Theory by Martin Hoffmann and Affectional Process expounded by Chinese educator Xiaoman Zhu.The researcher will state the connotation of DIE in value education according to the current status of value education tapes.The researcher will state the mechanism of value education according to Xiaoman Zhu's Affectional Process,and analyze how does role-player's empathy occurs in DIE and how does it influence their behavior or cognition to related value on the basis of Hoffmann's Empathy Theory,so as to offer an evidence for the post research of the process of value education centred by emotion in DIE.Moreover,the researcher will put forward the practice procedures of value education by DIE in primary school and give principles on how to implement these procedures,according to the analysis above.In order the front line teachers to use for reference,the researcher will also give an example of DIE activity design.And the researcher will mainly analyze the role-players different value constructions in their mind with the picture book role playing The Great Little Red Bird according to their degree of emotional involvement,and will try to give relevant counter measures for the teacher,hoping to make all the participants in DIE comprehend their own value,so as to develop the effect of value education by DIE.
