Research On The Problems And Countermeasures Of Two-child Family Education

The implementation of the Two-Child policy was paid widespread attention since 2015.More and more parents choose to have a second child after careful consideration.Thus,the critical question is that how to carry out the family education.Because the policy has just been implemented,the researches about how to educate in the two-child condition is not consummate.Therefore,our study focus on this issue.In this study,340 two-child families in which contain the parents and first-born children,coming from Liaoning Province and Shaanxi Province,are selected as the subjects.Using questionnaires and interviews to these two-child families,it is found that because of the arrival of the second child,parents and the first child have their own problems in the four dimensions of cognition,attitude,behavior,and emotion.Considering the existing problems,we provide effective education guidance for parents and first child in four dimensions.The survey results are as follows: On the hand,the parents' problems are reflected in four aspects: 1.Cognition: the education of two-children families is not attracted enough attention and the parents have not formed the correct cognition;2.Attitude: Parents lack patience toward the first child;3.Behavior:(1)Parents don't communicate with the first child about the plan for second child;(2)The time spent with the first child is reduced,and too much energy is devoted to the second child;(3)Parents are strict with the first child and often ignore them;(4)Parents cannot treat two children fairly,and often compare two children;4.Emotion: Parents lack the initiative to share emotion with their children.On the other hand,the first child' problems are reflected in four aspects as well: 1.Cognition: There is no correct understanding of the second-born children,the cognition is ambiguous;2.Attitude: The first child's attitude towards parents and second child is passive;3.Behavior:(1)The behavior of the first child is retrogressive;(2)In order to focus the attention of family members,the first child show the lying behavior;(3)The first child is lack of responsibility.They also couldn't solve the conflict with the second child;(4)The friendship between first child and their friends is not as good as before,in addition,they are more dependent on parents;4.Emotion: The first child lacks affection for parents and second child.In view of the above existing problems,we analyze the causes of each of them and summarize as follows: 1.the causes of parents' problems:(1)Low level of educational degree;(2)Limitation of time and energy;(3)Inappropriate parenting style;(4)lack of emotional communication.2.The reasons for the problems of the first child's children:(1)The typical “egocentricity”of young children;(2)The influence of unsafe parent-child attachment relationships;(3)Imitation of parents' inappropriate behaviors;(4)Children's sense of security and attribution Loss of sensation.Summarizing the problems of parents and first children before and after the arrival of second children,we put forward the following four suggestions for each of them: 1.As for parents:(1)Predict all possible problems when planning the second child;(2)Elevate themselves and apply scientific methods of parenting;(3)Pay more attention to the psychological changes of the children,and balance the time between the two children;(4)More emotional exchanges with two children to create a harmonious family environment.2.As for the first child:(1)choose the way that the first child likes to understand his role;(2)communicate with the children who are two-child family and different age;(3)establish a good attitude and actively face life;(4)Experience the process of beautiful growth of a living body.It is expected that parents and first-born children in two-child families can overcome their own problems in time and effectively,and enjoy the happiness of having two children,as well as the harmonious family atmosphere between children.
