Research On The Model Workers Of Shanghai Women In The Early Period Of The Founding Of New China (1949-1956)

After the founding of the People’s Republic of China,Shanghai has carried out many labor competitions around the economic restoration and construction of the People’s Republic of China,and held relevant labor model selection and commendation activities.Among them,female model workers accounted for a considerable part.From 1949 to 1956,a total of 658 female model workers were selected in Shanghai.This paper attempts to analyze the background of female model workers in Shanghai during the early days of the founding of the People’s Republic of China by using archives,newspapers,and other materials,and to summarize the selection and recognition of female model workers in Shanghai during this period.Through the analysis,not only the new image of Shanghai women in the early days of the founding of New China,but also the contribution of Shanghai women to the economic recovery and construction of New China.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the article is divided into three chapters.The first chapter mainly expounds the background of the Shanghai women’s labor model in the early days of the founding of the People’s Republic of China from the aspects of objective environment and subjective will.Through the improvement of political and economic status,women’s self-awareness will be promoted,they will take the initiative to leave the family and actively participate in social production.The second chapter summarizes the different topics of labor competitions,selection and commendation of female model workers held in Shanghai during this period,and analyzes the group characteristics of women model workers in Shanghai from the four aspects of age,education,occupation,and political appearance,reflecting Shanghai New changes,characteristics of the times and local styles of women in the city.The third chapter analyzes the group characteristics and enlightenment of Shanghai women’s labor model in the early days of the founding of New China.By analyzing the structure of the Shanghai women’s labor model group,it reflects its distinctive characteristics of the times,excellent role models,typical images of women,and relevant characteristics that lead the trend of the times.In the early days of the founding of New China,the selection and commendation of female model workers in Shanghai guided social value orientation from one aspect,created a glorious social style of work and a spirit of professional excellence,promoted positive energy,and inherited the spirit of dedicated model workers.
