An Ethnological Study Of The Religious Identity Of A Rural Catholic Group

As a subsystem of the society,the Inner Mongolian Catholicism,which is closely connected with other subsystems,also exhibits unique characteristics,which are bound to be influenced by the long-term integration of local culture.Therefore,after Catholicism was introduced to Inner Mongolia,it was of great importance to select and reflect the local cultural content and to create a unique group culture.Based on the perspective of ethnology,this paper selects Guyingzichurchof Siziwangqi,Inner Mongolia as a case,and tries to analyze the acquisition and reinforcement of the religious identity of the Catholic community in Inner Mongolia rural areas through the investigation of the Guyingzi community.The full text consists of five parts.The introduction part is introduced by several aspects such as the origin of the problem,its significance,historical data of the literature,research ideas and methods,and the definition of related concepts.The first chapter introduces the history and background of the development of the Catholic Church by combing the development history and the status of the Catholic Church in Guyingzi District.The second chapter,through the investigation of the community in thechurchofGuyingzi district,analyzes the way of belief in the parish and the defining factors of their identification.The acquisition of Catholic identity in rural areas,especially the beliefs of the old church villagers,comes from their families,marriages,and acquaintances.The factors defining their identities are often reflected in their special language symbols,material symbols,unique ways of thinking,and lifestyle differences.The third chapter,through the Inquisition of the religious life and the folk life of the parishioners,explores the factors that internalize religious beliefs,deepen religious feelings and strengthen religious identity.With the popularization of modern communication equipment,Catholics in rural areas not only practice their beliefs through traditional participation ceremonies and pilgrimages,but also strengthen their practice by using modern communication devices such as smart phones.The last chapter is the conclusion of this paper,which mainly summarizes the above contents,analyzes the influence of Catholic belief on folk life and gives some countermeasures,which helps to correctly understand the negative influence,exert positive influence and serve the folk life.
