Recorded in “The Analects”,Confucius said: “Not be afraid of loneness but be afraid of unevenness, not be afraid of poverty but be afraid of instability”.Fairness has been a longing for people's social life since ancient times, and is also one of the basic principles for maintaining social order. But when it comes to disputes of interest,There is no fairness between the weak and the strong.A strong sense of injustice will destroy interpersonal relationships and deepen class conflicts and racial conflicts. In this paper, the sense of injustice is used as the dependent variable. The effects of forgiveness and revenge on the reduction of sense of injustice under different social distance conditions are experimentally studied and compared. This article contains 3 studies.Study 1 explores and compares the initiation of forgiveness / retaliation about reducing sense of injustice. It can be known from the experimental results that the initiation of forgiveness significantly reduces the sense of injustice, and the initiation of retaliation will deepen the sense of injustice. The main purpose of Study 2 was to explore whether the forgiveness / retaliation behavior reduced the feeling of injustice and to compare them. From the experimental results,it can be seen that revenge behavior has a significant reduction effect on the sense of injustice, and the forgiveness behavior has no significant reduction effect on the sense of injustice. The main purpose of Study 3 is to explore whether the forgiveness / revenge behavior reduces the feeling of injustice under different social distance conditions and compare them. From the experimental results,Compared with friends, individuals are more likely to choose revenge against strangers.we can see that even if individuals are more likely to forgive their friends,it does not reduce their unfair feelings.Even if they choose to forgive friends,it is difficult for them to give them positive meanings and to relieve themselves.Compared with forgiveness behavior, revenge behavior has a significant effect on reducing injustice. The study draws the following conclusions:(1)When an individual encounters an unfair event and generates an unfair feeling, the reduction of unfair feeling by the forgiveness depends on whether the individual gives positive meaning to the offensive behavior and relieve themselves. If the individual is only in the stage of deciding forgiveness, forgiveness will not reduce the sense of injustice. If the individual gives positive meaning to the offensive behavior and is relieved, forgiveness can significantly reduce the sense of injustice.(2)When an individual encounters an unfair event and generates a sense of injustice, retaliation acts can reduce the sense of injustice. If an individual has the idea of revenge but cannot perform retaliation, the result will further lead to a stronger sense of injustice.(3)Both forgiveness(initiation)and revenge(behavior)reduce the sense of injustice. But revenge is not the same as forgiveness.Forgiveness emphasizes the mind, and retaliation focuses on the results of actions. There is no true forgiveness if there is no relief in the heart, and no retaliation without retaliation behavior.(4)Even if an individual is more likely to forgive a friend,it does not reduce his or her inner sense of injustice.Even if you choose to forgive a friend,it is difficult to give positive meaning and relieve themselves.
