Zdzis(?)aw Beksi?ski, born in Snaok on February 14,1929,was assassinated on February 22,2005 at the age of 76.After the Second World War and the modern Polish painting world,Beksi?ski is an important artist.Beksi?ski's paintings, both the early surrealist paintings and the later expressionist paintings gradually transformed, all enrich the more unified images and symbols on the senses, such as groups of skeletons, vast cemeteries, bandages wrapped around the desolate fields and so on.The emergence of these specific images and symbols is closely related to the author's childhood in the Second World War,especially for Poland and the Jews. There are countless events that mark the pain of the Polish nation, such as the German invasion of Poland at the beginning of the Second World War,the Katyn massacre, and the "unfreezing" of Polish politics in October 1956.In the mid-1950 s,the artistic environment changed from realism painting to expressionism painting, and Beksi?ski's photography and chalk painting works were deeply influenced by it.Although understanding his works in this way is against the original intention of the author to consciously discard the deterministic factors and pay attention to the psychological suggestive force of his works, the images produced by the author after reconstruction are all true human experience emotions with universality. He thought that the object of art service should be the painter himself, not for promoting aesthetic construction or social development.Critics and all walks of life tend to classify Beksi?ski's works as surrealism or expressionism. As an art critic and a good friend of Beksi?ski,Tadeusz Nyczek believes that his paintings should be classified as fantasy. But such understanding of his works are slightly biased and one-sided.After being influenced by modern and contemporary painting,Beksi?ski still chose traditional materials and concrete painting features, because he kept the emotional narrative function of painting.Find a comprehensive innovation road between modern and traditional, and then create a unique painting style, and go further on the humanistic care.
