return of painting”,which is not a simple return or representation, but to open up a new way of creation. From the point of view of modern Chinese painters,neo-expressionism is a successful example of humanistic image of Visual Art,which arouses people’s inner emotion, and differs from Chinese and Western oil painting in the expression of emotion. However, art is a kind of medium that can express emotion. In the long river of the world art history, almost all paintings express people’s spiritual pursuit with certain medium and expressive technique. Therefore, the eastern and Western painting from the human spirit of the pursuit to examine, but also can have the opportunity to blend. In the modern information and open cultural exchange, the development direction of Chinese oil painting is to a great extent influenced by the western neo-expressionism,including the concrete changes of Chinese oil painting under the influence of the Western neo-expressionism,in this thesis, the Chinese oil paintings of the Western neo-expressionism are studied,as well as the works of the modern painters Shang Yang and Duan Zhengqu, this thesis discusses how these paintings combine the Chinese painting language with the Western neo-expressionism,and further studies the expression of humanistic images by Chinese neo-expressionism painters.Among them, emphasizing from the connotation and spirit as the starting point of study, analyzing how Chinese painters draw lessons from the artistic structure and form of Western neo-expressionism painting, and from the creative theme, creative method and spiritual connotation of the combination of three aspects to form the neo-expressionism with its own characteristics. In this thesis,by using literature and case studies,it is concluded that the modern Chinese oil painting language under the concept of neo-expressionism is mainly a combination of western painting techniques and local painting language,at the same time,it embodies the subjective spirit of
