According to the literature, the Canglang Pavilion Park was built in the Five years of the Qingli period of the Northern Song Dynasty. It existed as a private villa during the Song Dynasty. It was owned by monks during the Yuan and Ming Dynasties and has been deserted for many years.Reconstruction began during the Kangxi period of the Qing dynasty. After constructions and repairs for ten years, the Canglang Pavilion Park formed today's pattern during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty. After the war of the Republic of China, the park was dilapidated and was built after the founding of People's Republic of China.Canglang Pavilion from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China mainly had two functions of education and politics. It was the undertaker of the local political and cultural responsibilities in Suzhou, and it was of great significance to study the history of Suzhou. At present, the current status of protection and utilization of the Canglang Pavilion Park is generally good, and the preservation and interpretation of Heritage buildings are in good condition. The clean government cultural activities and opera activities are well organized. However, there are still some shortcomings in the four aspects of buildings, display, cultural and creative products, and cultural activities. In view of this, the author proposes to strengthen the protection of cultural relic buildings and maximize the opening of cultural relic buildings;utiize various methods to explain cultural relic buildings;use excellent creative products to explain cultural relic values;lead into government support and energetically carry out cultural heritage protection practices and improve public awareness of protection and participation.
