Director's Interpretation Of "Zhu Qin Wuxiang"

The form of society is the identity of culture,and there is mapping between culture and society each other.Culture constitutes social identity in the form of a universal value,which is related to the identity and belonging of all members of society.However,this kind of construction is facing new challenges in the contemporary era,especially that the construction of culture face great changes in the context of great changes in the society dominated by globalization and modernization.Our work is a documentary about the contemporary development of Guqin.The pace of China’s modernization and industrialization have accelerated because of social changes since the new century,however,some of the original soil of traditional culture also gradually lost.The culture of Guqin reflects the traditional Chinese literati fashion and is an important symbol of "intangible cultural heritage" culture.Focus on the contemporary development of Guqin culture,we try to put forward constructive suggestions for the development of Guqin career via to three story lines that reflect the practice and exploration of the inheritors of Guqin in different identities and backgrounds.The first story: as one of the few famous craftsmen of hand-made Qin,55 year old Zhang Yuxin is still fighting in the front line of making Qin.After a long time of follow-up shooting,Zhang shows us the birth of a Qin and the professional spirit of traditional craftsmen,which is almost "rigid".Zhang also tried to teach his understanding of Guqin to his apprentice,Qin Weilong.From the collision between Yuxin Zhang and Weilong Qin’s ideas in daily life,we can see the spirit and social value of Guqin for generations.The second story: Dazheng Chen runs the sole Guqin society in Xuzhou.There are a large number of people coming to learn although the class is small.By focusing on the daily life of the piano club,we can see the current people’s attitude towards the Guqin culture and the reality of the spread of contemporary traditional culture.Chen is a typical Guqin family,however,it is very difficult to pass on the Qin club to his daughter Chen Cheng.We can show the family affection and responsibility around the inheritance of Guqin by focusing on this small family.The third story: Guqin is a comfortable utensil for the office worker Zhao Ying although pressure is an inevitable thing for everyone struggling in society.Zhao often goes to Liu Shanjiao’s piano hall to ask the teacher to instruct music.The teacher was happy with Zhao Ying’s visit and try to make Zhao adjust his life by understanding the connotation of Guqin culture to relieve theworries about the students.This wok reveals the core connotation of Guqin culture.The three story correspond to three ways of Guqin inheritance respectively: "teacher’s biography","family’s biography" and folk development.Our film also use the protagonist’s different contradictions and dilemmas to show the friction and collision of values about the cultural heritage of Guqin,and the story and plot tension of the documentary are highlighted by means of cross editing and storytelling.Our work would give the audience some thinking space in the traditional culture and the perspective of the development of the times at the same time introduce the Guqin culture.
