| Inhibition control is one of the more important cognitive functions for individuals.Physical exercise is a more economical,convenient and effective method to improve inhibition control.However,previous studies have reached inconsistent conclusions on the impact of exercise environment and exercise duration on inhibition control in acute aerobic exercise.Therefore,this study takes these two exercise elements as the starting point to explore the impact of moderate intensity acute aerobic exercise with different environment and duration on inhibition control,the internal mechanism of the impact of green exercise on inhibition control.A total of 112 active participants(66 males,22.50±1.59 years old)in this study respectively took part in moderate intensity aerobic exercise of different duration in different environments.And the green exercise environment uses the form of playing a simulated green video which can inspires green experience,the participants’ emotion pre-exercise and post-exercise uses The Exercise-induced Feeling Inventory(EFI),and the information of exercise experience is obtained through investigation.First of all,this study adopts a 2*3 between-subjects design,taking exercise environment(green environment,non-green environment)and exercise duration(15minutes,30 minutes,45 minutes)as independent variables,taking inhibition measurement task(STOP-IT task and Countermanding Saccades task)as dependent variables,and taking their pre-exercise response time as a covariate respectively,to carry out two-factor co-variance ANOVA analysis.Secondly,the data of STOP-IT tasks in the green exercise group were selected,and SPSS PROCESS 3.0 program was used to test the mediating effect of positive emotion between green exercise and inhibition control,the moderating effect of exercise experience between green exercise and positive emotion,and whether there is a moderated mediation model between these four variables.The results are as follows:(1)For SSRT,the results of STOP-IT task data are as follows: the main effect of group is significant P<0.01,the main effect of exercise duration is significant P<0.001,the interaction between the two is not significant P<0.05.The results of Countermanding Saccades task data are as follows: the main effect of group is significant P<0.001,the main effect of exercise time is significant P<0.001,the interaction between the two is not significant P<0.05.(2)For Go RT,the results of STOP-IT task data are as follows: the main effect of group is not significant P<0.05,the main effect of exercise time is not significant P<0.05,the interaction between group and exercise time is not significant P<0.05.The results of Countermanding Saccades task data are as follows: the main effect of group is significant,P<0.01,the main effect of exercise time is significant P<0.05,the interaction between group and exercise time was not significant P<0.05.(3)Between green exercise and inhibition control,positive emotion play a part in mediating effect between green exercise and inhibition control,Exercise experience does not find moderating effect between green exercise and inhibition control,and no moderated mediation effect between the four variables.According to the results of SSRT and Go RT,the inhibition control ability of green exercise group is better than that of non-green exercise group.There is no significant difference between 15 minutes and 30 minutes of exercise on inhibition control,both of which are better than 45 minutes of exercise.Countermanding Saccades task may be more sensitive than the STOP-IT task,and saccades in each group is faster in response execution than manual response.The following conclusions as follows:(1)Exercise environment has an impact on the cognitive benefits of exercise,and exercise in green natural environment has a better improvement effect on college students’ inhibition control than in non-green environment,that is,the synergistic benefits of green exercise exist.(2)It is not that the longer the exercise time,the better the improvement effect on inhibition control.For college students,15 minutes of exercise can produce reliable inhibition control benefits.(3)Positive emotions play a partial mediating role between green exercise and inhibition control.No moderated mediation effect between exercise experience,positive emotions,green exercise and inhibition control.This suggests that there may be other intermediate variables that regulate the effect of green exercise on inhibition control. |
