French film director Anne Fontaine is a fine example of acting and directing and has won awards for her films. Most of her works revolve around the struggle between desire and ethics of middle-aged women, and her ideology is deep.Affected by the new wave of feminist films, the consciousness of women's independent awakening in these films and the consciousness of the new wave feminist films are in the same line. This article starts from the female images of desire and ethics in Anne Fontaine's films, and classifies many female images in the film, one is single women, the other is married women, and the other is in abnormal gender orientation relationships."Women",each category has its own distinctive female image, representing different female categories in society. These women's images created by Anne Fontaine face the desires, and have the courage to break through the social ethical restraints, which contains the development of women's self-awareness in the new era. These women's consciousness is contained in the unique feminine aesthetics of her films and breaks through the mainstream Ideology. In this paper,Laura Mulvey's theory is used to analyze the shaping of the female image in Anne Fontaine's films,so as to find out that Anne Fontaine inherits the female consciousness in the new wave of feminist films, and writes the female image and self-consciousness in the new era: women, women, people too.Through the painful choice between female ethics and desire in Anne Fontaine's films, the author has reflected on it.In the development of contemporary society, every woman as a person has a desire that belongs to a person. These desires will not be caused by social ethics were imprisoned and suppressed, but released in the development of female self-consciousness.
