Look At Liu Xinwu's Novel Creation In The 1970s And 1980s From The Relationship Between Modernization And Secularism

Liu Xinwu is good at reflecting social problems and finding corresponding solutions through writing since The Class Teacher was published.In the 1970 s and 1980 s,his general idea of writing was to solve social problems with the help of modernization.In his opinion,the current crisis was the result of inadequate modernization.That is to say,the lack of material and modern education has led to human ignorance and even the moral issues.From the perspective of modernization,he thought that these problems would be properly solved with the improvement of modernization.As a result,he could treat ordinary people with tolerance,and his novels could be closed to the realities of earthly living.He tried to stand in the position of others,in order to understand the spirit,feeling,and emotion of the unprivileged populace.He advocated exploring truth,goodness and beauty in unprivileged populace' life to overcome the current difficulties.In a word,his novels embody positive atmosphere,and the characters in novels are spirited and optimistic.That is why his novels are touching and educational.This paper will take modernization as the main line to analyze Liu Xinwu's works in the 1970 s and 1980 s and how the author told stories and dealt with social problems which were presented in his novels.If The Class Teacher means a new phase in his writing which shows his modern thinking.Then,I Love Each Green Leaf,Ruyi,and Cloverleaf Intersection are his attempt to solve practical problems through the Modernization of Mode of Thinking.The last chapter of this paper focuses on the relationship between history,modernization and secular and discusses the modern features of The Bell Tower,which is his most well-known novel.
