A Study Of Locality Words In A Small Piece Of Longdong

Longdong(陇东)district is located in the eastern part of Gansu Province,where the three provinces of Shaanxi,Gansu and Ningxia meet.This thesis takes the Longdong sub-cluster as the research object.we describe the orientation expression and the spatial characteristics in this dialect and explain the meaning of these orientation words and compare them with the Mandarin and other dialects to provide materials for the study of Northwestern dialects.The main body of this article consists of six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,and the second chapter discusses the basic orientation words of the Longdong sub-cluster.Then we describe and analyze the direction words in third chapter.The forth chapter mainly studies the orientation of body parts in the Longdong sub-cluster.Chapter 5 summarizes the characteristics of the orientation expression of the Longdong sub-cluster.Chapter 6 is the conclusion.The main content of each chapter is as follows.The introduction chapter first introduces the geographical feature and dialect division of Longdong district.According to the division of the newly compiled“Language Atlas of China”,most of the dialects in Longdong area belong to the Central Plains Mandarin QinLong sub-dialect.Secondly we analyze the formation and development of the dialect in Longdong area from the perspective of geographical features.Thirdly,We briefly explained and summarized the research overview and basic characteristics of Longdong sub-cluster.Finally,we summarize the research on orientation words in Mandarin and dialects in modern Chinese,and introduces the significance and value of this thesis.The second chapter mainly introduces the basic orientation words in the Longdong sub-cluster.According to the different morphemes and orientation meanings,we describe orientation meaning of a series of words and compare with the Mandarin and other dialects.The third chapter mainly introduces the usage of the direction verb.There are two main forms of usage of trend verbs in Longdong sub-cluster: One is “up,down,over + place name”.Another form is “Prepositions+direction verb”.This chapter gives a detailed description and analysis of the indications of orientation expressed by these two forms in the Longdong sub-cluster.and the characteristics of the geographicalenvironment.The fourth chapter takes the body parts nouns in the Longdong sub-cluster as the research object and introduces its original meaning and the meaning of orientation in this dialect.Body part nouns are closely related to spatial orientation.In many languages,positional prepositions and body part nouns are used to form a word that represents spatial orientation.Some body part words are even grammatically converted into spatial demonstrators.Chapter 5 describes and summarizes the features of orientation expression in the Longdong sub-cluster from both the topography and the reference object,and analyzes that the specific natural geographical environment affects people’s spatial cognitive psychology and the choice of reference object.On the basis of the above content,the conclusion of the main body summarizes the characteristics of the orientation expression of Longdong sub-cluster from the three aspects of form,distribution and influencing factors.There are abundant expressions of orientation.In addition to common orientation words,there are trending verbs and body part words.These orientation expressions differ in the distribution and use of different topographical areas in Longdong area.The specific living environment has created people’s sense of direction,and the same direction words indicate different directions in different regions.
