The Music Style And Singing Analysis Of Henry Deepak's French Art Song "Go To The Place Where War Broke Out"

When I was new to French,I learned to sing art song Au pays où se fait la guerre by French composer Henri Duparc.Before that,the instructor and the author briefly talked about the rough life of this little-known composer who should be well-known.Therefore,The author became curious about Duparc and the few works he left behind,which greatly stimulated the interest of the author to study.This paper is based on a large amount of literature on Durparc and its art songs,and takes the art song Au pays où se fait la guerre as the main research object.This paper is divided in three parts.The first part is the life a brief introduction of Durparc’s life and the creation background of the French arttistic song Au pays où se fait la guerre.The second part is a detailed analysis of the musical style and characteristics of this work in terms of lyrics,melody,and piano accompaniment.And the third part is singing analysis and the author’s own singing experience about this workBecause of the art song Au pays où se fait la guerre,Henri Durparc was one of the most distinctive composers in France in the 19 th century.He was the earliest French to reform song writing and create “Symphonic Poem of Languages”,and he only retained 16 vocal art songs.When I researched the work,I found that there are only 22 entries on the Internet about Durparc’s art songs.There is even no research about this work.Therefore,through the research and analysis of this work,I hope that more people can better understand this “inspiration seeker”(Caesar Frank’s evaluation of Durparc)and learn how to sing this type of art song like Au pays où se fait la guerre.
