In the Northern Song Dynasty,Taiyuan was on Hedong Road,bordering Qidan in the north,and bordering Xixia in the northwest.It shouldered the important task of defending Xixia and Qidan.Its political and military status was self-evident.The Northern Song Dynasty attached great importance to the election of the prefect of Taiyuan.The Taiyuan government bureaucracy system is fully equipped,and the prefects,passers-by,and clerical officers cooperate in handling the Taiyuan government affairs.Due to the special strategic position of Taiyuan Prefecture,Zhifu will also serve as an embassy and ambassador in wartime.In the absence of Zhifu,the governor of the prefecture is generally known to the state.According to the inspection of 82 people from the Taiyuan Prefecture in the Northern Song Dynasty,they paid attention to the people's livelihood,edited Kou Anmin,re-educated schools,and built water conservancy projects,making important contributions to the development and stability of Taiyuan Prefecture.Judging from the characteristics of the prefects,most of the prefects in the Taiyuan prefecture are between 50 and 69 years old.Most of these officials come from the ranks of scholars,and some of them come from Menyin,but the number is very small.The average office hours of the prefects were the highest in Taizong and the lowest in Huizong.As far as the overall official career of the prefects is concerned,most of the prefectures in the Taiyuan prefecture continue to be relocated to serve as local governors.Nearly a quarter of the officials have entered the central post,and some of them even went to senior positions such as stubborn,shangshu,and assistant Officials.In addition,the Taiyuan prefecture can basically make correct strategic deployment in the Northern Song Dynasty's foreign war,which has a certain impact on the relationship between Song and Xia.
