| Stuttering is a kind of speech fluency disorder with a high incidence in children’s stage. The expression of stuttering is that in the process of speaking,an individual knows exactly what he wants to say,but sometimes it is difficult to express his thoughts due to the irregular repetition, prolongation or pause of pronunciation.Stuttering will not only affect children’s speech production, but also affect their learning and life, resulting in mental health problems.Among them, lexical planning is one of the important processes in speech production, which refers to the selection of appropriate lexical for the expressed concepts.Lexical planning scope refers to the range of lexical selection for the content that people want to express before they begin to pronounce.Previous studies have found that the fluency of oral expression is affected by the appropriate planning breadth of lexical selection. Therefore, this study explored the possible role of lexical planning scope in stuttering in children. This study first investigated the level of verbal fluency,self-esteem,and self-identity development of 326 middle school students through a questionnaire, and the relationship between the three. At the same time,22 stuttering children and 24 non stuttering children were selected for subsequent experiments from the results of the speech fluency questionnaire and the stuttering evaluation standard(SSI-4).In the experiment,a block-cyclic naming paradigm was used, and the semantic blocking effect was used as an indicator to test the scope of the lexical planning of stuttering children when generating single words and juxtaposed noun phrases. The main results are as follows:1.On the one hand, children’s speech fluency directly affects children’s self-esteem level,on the other hand,it can also affect children’s self-esteem level through the intermediary role of self-identity development level;2.In the process of lexical planning for a single picture, both stuttering children and non-stuttering children produced a semantic blocking effect, and the stuttering child’s semantic blocking effect was significantly smaller than that of non-stuttering children;3.In the process of lexical planing for naming parallel noun phrases, stuttering children and non-stuttering children have different semantic blocking effect on the first noun of the phrase, and non-stuttering children have significant semantic blocking effect, and Stuttering children didnot find significant semantic blocking effects. Conclusion: Children’s speech fluency affects children’s self-esteem level and self-identity development level,so we should pay attention to children’s speech fluency;one of the reasons for children’s stuttering is that the lexical planing scope is too small, therefore, the corresponding teaching suggestion is that teachers should actively guide students not to rush to express what they want to say. |
