It is very important to choose the appropriate grammatical encoding planning scope in the production of spoken sentences. In this study,we use the picture-word interference paradigm to explore the differences between the students in middle school and primary school in the production of grammatical encoding planning scope, and the effect of the differences on verbal fluency.Thirty-eight primary school students in grade three and thirty-four middle school students in grade two participated in this experiment. After the statistical analysis, the following conclusions are drawn:1,The grammatical encoding planning scope in sentence production is affected by age.The middle school students’ grammatical encoding planning scope is the first noun, and the primary school students’ grammatical encoding planning scope is less than the first noun.2,In the production of spoken sentences, the size of the grammatical encoding planning scope will have an impact on the individual’s verbal fluency, which is one of the reasons why the primary school students’ verbal fluency is worse than that of the middle school students.3,The ability to process a single picture can also affect the fluency of spoken sentence production.
