| Mongolian written language has a long history and is a mature written language with orthography that matches its own type and system. The Mongolian alphabet has experienced many setbacks in the course of hundreds of years of development before it has evolved into a powerful writing system that can record multiple dialects and multiple languages today.Looking back on the development of Mongolian orthography,we always strictly abide by the vowel Yin-Yang harmony law and consonant harmony law. Therefore, the principle of phonetics has always been the core basic principle of Mongolian orthography. In the traditional Mongolian linguistics literature, the phonetic principles are used as the starting point for research, and then a relatively complete set of orthographic methods such as morphological principles, distinguishing principles, and historical principles are revealed. This thesis consists of four parts: introduction, chapter one, chapter two and conclusion. The content of the introduction explains the research object, the basis and goal of the topic selection, the research significance, the research method, and the research overview. The first chapter discusses the evolution and development of the Mongolian alphabet, and then expresses its views on the Mongolian vowels and consonants. In the second chapter,I collected a variety of orthography contents proposed in the traditional Mongolian linguistic literature in order to find out the development process of Mongolian orthography. Conclusion, commented on the success and failure in the development of Mongolian orthography. It also shows that the phonetic principle is the core principle of Mongolian orthography. |
