Investigation And Research On Chinese Teaching In Colleges And Universities In Marua, Cameroon

This paper selected two universities,Maroua Normal College and Maroua College of Literature,of the Confucius Institute Maroua Branch,Yaounde Second University in Cameroon,as case study to investigate the Chinese teaching situation in Cameroon.By means of questionnaires,direct interview,telephone interview and e-mail interview,this paper comprehensively and objectively reflects the situation of Chinese language teaching in Maroua institute.According to the results of the investigation,this paper analyses the problems existing in teaching Chinese language in colleges and universities in Maroua,Cameroon,tries to find solutions to the problems and also put forward some suggestions.It is hoped that this paper will be beneficial for the better development of Chinese Language teaching in this area.This paper is divided into seven parts:Chapter One discusses the research background,significance,literature review and research methods.Chapter Two introduces the development process of Chinese teaching in colleges and universities in Cameroon,Chinese teaching curriculum and teaching materials in Maroua region.Chapter Three investigates the Chinese classroom teaching in colleges and universities in Maroua region,the forms of Chinese teaching,the difficulties of Chinese teaching and the types of Chinese examination questions,were all analysed in detail.Chapter Four;Investigates the situation of Chinese teachers in Maroua,especially the country,mother tongue,specific major and educational background of the teachers.Chapter Five discusses the characteristics and problems of Chinese teaching objects in colleges and universities in Cameroon,as well as the motivation and purpose of the students learning Chinese.Chapter Six analyses the problems of Chinese teaching in colleges and universities in Maroua region of Cameroon.Chapter Seven puts forward some suggestions on Chinese teaching in colleges and universities in Maroua,Cameroon.Conclusion summarizes the situation,problems and countermeasures of Chinese teaching in colleges and universities in Maroua,Cameroon,and finally points out the innovation and shortcomings of this paper.
