| During recent years,the number of people learning Chinese as a foreign language has been increasing in the world and has exceeded 100 million.Foreigners’ Chinese level is continuing to improve.On the other hand,foreigner students started to have problems and difficulties in Chinese idioms.Spoken Chinese idioms are very expressive part of spoken Chinese.These idioms are used to express a wealth of meaning by using simple words.Therefore,Chinese idiomatic teaching has a positive significance,especially for the foreigner students,if learners do not understand the specific meaning of these idioms,they will have misunderstandings and even make stupid mistakes,which may cause students to feel frustrated.Based on the ontology research,this article defines idioms,the importance of idioms in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,the difficulties of studying the spoken Chinese idioms,the importance of teaching idioms for foreigners,the difficulties of idioms for foreigners,the current status of idiomatic teaching,and teaching idioms material.The general description is based on a survey directed to foreign students through questionnaires.The results found that many students have not conducted special idiom classes in the process of learning Chinese.However,students who have taken idiom classes believe that understanding the origin and cultural aspects of idioms is more effective for students to understand its meaning.Therefore,students believe that it is useful to combine Chinese culture in the idiom learning process.Also,it is found that using idioms and make sentences is the most difficult part for learners.Finally,this paper analyzes the book "A Course in Chinese Colloquial Idioms",designs more scientific and reasonable Chinese idioms teaching method,applies the proposed teaching method for foreign students in Qingdao University and provides a teaching feedback. |
