As an educational institution,the university art museum relying on the rich resources of university,serves higher education,and plays an important role in the construction of campus culture,talents training,discipline construction and social aesthetic education.Therefore,the main research questions for this study are: What is the difference between the university art museum and the public art museum? How can university art museums fulfil the primary function of serving university education and research more effectively? How can university art museums and universities combine more actively in education?There are six chapters in this paper.The first two chapters start from the historical relationship between museums,universities and university art museum,the the mission and responsibility of university art museums,the current situation and problems of university art museums in China,as well as the characteristics and advantages of education of university art museum.The third chapter explains the prerequisites of the combination of university art museum and university teaching in the new context.Then,taking the states of the combination of three university art museums in Beijing and university teaching as the research subjects,the next two chapters focuses on analyzing the students’ learning experience and demand in the university art museum;discussing the characteristics and connotations of six combination patterns of university art museum and university teaching by carrying out the field investigations,questionnaire surveys,and semi-structured interviews;and exploring the possibility of deepening the integration of teaching through the cases of art museums of foreign universities.The last chapter provides the valuable reference recommendations and thoughts which is based on the current situations that the interactive state of the combination between the university art museum and university teaching in China is still primary and unidirectional.
