A Study On The Metaphor Of Chinese "V+O" Verb-object Phrases

Metaphor is the basic theory of cognitive metaphor.The difference from traditional cognitive metaphor is that cognitive metaphor considers metaphor to be formed in human thinking and expressed in human language.Its working mechanism is a projection from the source domain to the target domain,and it is the mapping relationship between the conceptual domain of one thing and another conceptual domain with similarity.However,traditional metaphor studies describe and study metaphorical phenomena from the perspective of rhetoric and semantics.Based on the theory of cognitive metaphors,this paper takes the V + N metaphorical structure as an object of study,and describes and analyzes its metaphor system.The full text is divided into six parts.The first part is "Introduction",which mainly explains the purpose,method and corpus of the research,and summarizes the relevant research results.Reviewing the development of metaphor research and introducing the current status of research at home and abroad are the theoretical foundation for subsequent analysis.The second part is the "source of metaphors".It analyzes different sources of metaphors,and shows that human beings and their lives are the source of metaphors.Metaphors cannot be separated from the objective world.The third part is "the image schema of V + N Structure and its classification",which summarizes the eight image schemas involved in verb-object phrases and their distribution according to the corpus.The fourth part is "the type and recategorization of V + N Structure combination," which uses metaphor theory to analyze the specific application of the V + N metaphorical structure.First,we analyze the corpus and classify the verb-object phrases into three categories: primary metaphor,ontology metaphor and structural metaphor.The representative metaphor phrases are mainly used to analyze various types of metaphors.Finally,the analysis shows the recategorization of V + N metaphorical structure.The essence of the verb-object metaphor phrase is that in the cognitive field,different categories are transformed through metaphors,highlighting the necessary characteristics and forming a new metaphoric family category,thereby rationalizing the language phenomenon of metaphor expression.The fifth part is "Conclusion",which summarizes the main points of the full text.
