In the early 20 th century,there was an era of multiple styles and full of changes.In many symphony works born during this period,especially in the scale of the orchestra and the length of the works,there appeared a "miniaturization" phenomenon,and began to re interpret the symphony in a new way.This paper takes three works of Janacek’s "Sinfonietta",Britton’s "Simple Symphony" and Prokofiev’s "Sinfonietta" as examples,through sorting out and analyzing the characteristics of the phenomenon of "generality" and "individuality" in the three works,and finally draws a conclusion from the traceability of the phenomenon of "miniaturization" in the early20 th century.The structure of this paper consists of three parts.The first part includes the first chapter and the second chapter,which respectively introduces the new trend of symphony in the early 20 th century,the artistic career of three composers and three works;the second part is the form analysis part of three works,including the third chapter to the seventh chapter.In these five chapters,the theme analysis includes the theme structure,the outline of the theme,the development of the theme and the pitch connotation of the theme;the fourth chapter mainly analyzes the performance characteristics of "tonality" in the work from the melody and harmony;the fifth and sixth chapters respectively analyze and elaborate the texture organization and structural mode in the work,Among them,the analysis of the texture includes the use of fixed tone pattern,hierarchical structure,rhythmic material polyphonic texture,etc.;the structural pattern is the characteristics of the composition;the seventh chapter mainly starts from the preparation and timbre processing to analyze the matching of the work.The third part mainly summarizes the style of "miniaturization" in Symphony creation in the early 20 th century "and draws a conclusion.The main academic achievements of this paper are as follows: the surface features of three symphonies and "miniaturization" are summarized,and the main causes of this phenomenon and the deep connotation logic behind the "miniaturization" are concluded.
