A Study On The Meaning Formation Of The Double-syllabic Compound Words Of Buddhism In The "Fahua Sutra"

When Buddhist sutras were introduced into the Middle-earth,not only had the diversity of ideas been constantly strengthened,but the Middle-earth's language had also changed,the response of its lexical system was more obvious.As one of the most important classics of Buddhism,the Saddharma Pundarika Sutra had a greater impact on all levels of society.After a preliminary comparison of the different versions of this Buddhist sutra,Kumarjiva's translation of The Lotus Sutra in Yao Qin(??)is identified as the research object.With multi-tiered comparative analysis and comprehensive investigation,it's found that the 252 disyllabic compound words derived from Buddhism in this document have high value in research.To ensure complete and effective study,there are methods,based on static and dynamic changes,to study the semantic composition of these words and explore the academic role and practical value contained in them.From the perspective of static changes,the in-depth analysis of the semantic structure pattern can be presented.With reference to Professor Wang Ning's related theory in analyzing the semantic structure of disyllabic compound words,we can investigate the meaning of morphemes in all words,and explain the words from the perspective of three semantic structural modes of direct generation,semi-direct generation and indirect generation,forming a complete understanding of the semantic structure of them.Besides,combined with the Sanskrit-Chinese correspondence of words,the characteristics of their semantics at a static level should be summarized.From the perspective of dynamic changes,the in-depth analysis of the types and approaches of the semantic changes of them should be found.Some words have been used in the modern Chinese vocabulary system,mainly manifested in the new meaning.From the cause,the factors can be analyzed:internal factors including the connotation of word meaning,the updating and strengthening of expressiveness,the adjustment of the word meaning system caused by the imbalance of internal language systems,and external factors such as social development,interpersonal communication,and cross-cultural language contact.According to semantic changes,that is,from the perspective of three ways of vulgar reanalysis and extension,it's possible to analyze the formation mechanism of the new meaning.Other words was limited by factors,such as the competition of allomorphic words in the synonym field,the change of morpheme,semantic redundancy,the disappearance of specific context,the choice of expression habits and psychology,unacceptable analogy.In the long river,they were not been used in modern Chinese.From the perspective of the compilation of dictionaries,it can have an in-depth analysis of the reference function of these words to the revision of Hanyu Da Cidian(?????).Hanyu Da Cidian(?????)is a compilation of dictionaries with great influence,but there are also shortcomings,which need to be continuously improved based on academic research.Although the number of Buddhist terms extracted from this Buddhist corpus is not large,its value cannot be ignored:The first is to supplement the source language of referred words,that is,Sanskrit,improving the entries in Hanyu Da Cidian(?????)to facilitate research by Sanskrit and Chinese.The second is to supplement the meanings of some words and improve the interpretation of Hanyu Da Cidian(?????)to facilitate the investigation of the systematic integrity of the meaning evolution of the words.The third is to advance the documentary use cases for some entries or to supplement the corpus of Buddhist documents to improve the Hanyu Da Cidian(?????).The documentary evidence helps to maintain the rigor and inclusiveness of dictionaries.
