Ye Zhaoyan as a writer who grew up during the cultural revolution, the Cultural Revolution not only carried many memories of his youth and painful experiences, but also became an important writing resource in his creative process. This paper takes the writing of "the cultural revolution" in Ye Zhaoyan's novels as the research object, elaborates on how the Cultural Revolution is presented in his novels, and focuses on exploring the significance and value of his writing of "cultural revolution" and the characteristics of narration. The first chapter discusses the presentation of the Cultural Revolution in Ye Zhaoyan's novels, and makes a specific analysis from three aspects:the story of"growing up" in the Cultural Revolution, the love and sex between men and women in the Cultural Revolution, and the urban life during the Cultural Revolution. It is pointed out that Ye Zhaoyan's presentation of the Cultural Revolution is firstly reflected in his novels, which show the growth track of the boys who grew up in the Cultural Revolution and their curiosity and prying into the sex,as well as the pain of the"growth" of the teenagers brought by the Cultural Revolution.Secondly,Ye Zhaoyan's novels about the Cultural Revolution contain many descriptions of the emotional and sexual lives of urban men and women, and profoundly discuss the complex relationship between love, sex and the revolution(the cultural revolution).Thirdly,Ye Zhaoyan's novels with the theme of "cultural revolution" depicted many kinds of urban citizens, reappearing the landscape pictures of urban(Nanjing)citizens' life during the Cultural Revolution. At the end of the first chapter,it is emphasized that Ye Zhaoyan's novels about the Cultural Revolution have a strong impulse to express himself, which shows the author's reminiscence and nostalgia for his own youth and has an autobiographical nature. The second chapter discusses the value and significance of the Cultural Revolution in Ye Zhaoyan's novels. Its value first lies in its attempt to restore,or supplement,or correct people's historical memory or impression of the Cultural Revolution with the help of novels,so as to enrich people's multi-dimensional understanding of the history of the Cultural Revolution. What Ye Zhaoyan added or corrected is the part ignored by other writers.Secondly, behind the historical writing of the Cultural Revolution,Ye Zhaoyan reflected on such topics as power politics and the people, truth telling, seeking truth from facts, and anti-war,which contain his reflection on the current social reality.Ye Zhaoyan is a writer full of humanistic care and realistic care spirit.Talking to the present and facing the future is the meaning of his writing of "cultural revolution".The third chapter focuses on the narrative features of Ye Zhaoyan's novels, aiming to explore the effect of various narrative strategies in the narration of the Cultural Revolution. This chapter focuses on the pursuit of a realistic effect in the narrative of his novels, and tries to create a "sense of reality".But from time to time,it breaks the illusion of "reality" by using the narrative way of meta-novel,to questions the possibility of understanding the historical reality of "the Cultural Revolution".At the same time, when describing the Cultural Revolution,Ye Zhaoyan's narrative style tends to be calm and moderate. In his writing,he will consider readers' reactions, pay attention to the dialogue and communication with readers, and urge readers to think about the Cultural Revolution through the use of blank space and other techniques.
