On Liang Shuming's Outlook On Life And Art From The Perspective Of The Relationship Between Body And Mind

Liang Shuming(1893-1988),formerly known as Huanding,the word Shouming,Shuming,has always been to " Shuming " after the present,and was born in Beijing.His ancestral home is Guilin,Guangxi.He is China’s modern thinker,the founder and main representative figure of the modern New Confucianism,and one of the most influential philosophers,thinkers and social activists in China in the 20th century.It has the reputation of "the opening of modern new Confucianism" and "the last Confucianism".Liang Shuming has spent his life exploring the fundamental problems of life and the problems of Chinese society.From the beginning,he worshipped Western utilitarianism,and later turned to Buddhism to pursue it.Finally,he returned to Confucianism.He widely absorbed various ideas such as Chinese Confucianism,Indian Buddhism,Western life philosophy and psychology,aiming to build his own doctrine system.He has a lot of academic works,publishing published Eastern and Western Cultures and Philosophies,Zhao Hua,Essence of Chinese Culture,The Heart and Life,etc.In these works,Liang Shuming formed a view on life and art from the perspective of life;It is pointed out that reason is selfless emotion,unique to human beings,and represents the highest spiritual form of life in the universe;It emphasizes the dominant characteristics of the human heart and reveals the significance of human life from the aspects of body and heart,human and nature,and society.The combination of body and heart is the foundation of the independent existence of the social person.The concern for the relationship between body and mind is the starting point and theoretical foundation of Liang Shuming’s philosophy and artistic thought of life,and it is also the ultimate direction of his artistic life.This article first discusses the theoretical basis of Liang Shuming’s thoughts,including his ideological origins and the theory of physical and mental relations in the general sense.Then,he mainly examines Liang Shuming’s outlook on life and art from the following four aspects.First,examine Liang Shuming’s outlook on life with the heart guides the body.The development from the body to the heart is actually the development of social things from spontaneous to conscious.The division of hands and feet and the development of the mind promote the maturity of the mind.The heart is the expression of life,and the body provides the material basis for the heart.The heart is "original" and the body is"used".The two are connected without separation.Achieving physical and mental harmony with an attitude of "everything is not identified".The reason between the body and mind is the transcendence of the instinct based on the body.Animals live from the body and rely on instinct to survive,so they can not demonstrate the nature of life;Man’s heart reveals the essence of life in the universe.Based on this theoretical basis,people should choose a solemn attitude towards life,go forward with their own nature,consciously express their inherent vitality to live.At the same time,it points out that the meaning of human life lies in the creation of "self" and "material".Secondly,introduce Liang Shuming’s artistic view of the combination of body and heart.All literature and art are based on feelings,and feelings are reciprocated between the body and mind.Liang Shuming believes that literature and art satisfy the heart’s need for truth,goodness and beauty.It has not only the truth that distinguishes it from science,but also the goodness that distinguishes it from religion,and also the beauty that distinguishes it from nature.It is a kind of beauty that surpasses personal gains and losses and has selfless feelings.Liang Shuming believes that "artistic" people have higher artistic attainment than "thinking" people.He analyzed the type of literature and art that is "tied to the body and connected to the heart."
