This article on Kane's five plays' systematic study is based on body theory and related theory of drama. This study is conducted under the context of Modernity and post-modernity and its ultimate goal is also to rethink the modernity and post-modernity through the study on body problems. In addition to introduction and conclusion, this article has four parts to explore the body difficulties in Sarah Kane drama. The first part focus on the performance of how the body is controlled by the reason in Sarah Kane works, her sharp criticism on reason is usually conveyed by a series of body image. It can reveal the visual representation, disease metaphorical and violence expression have inter-related with the reason through interpretation of Sarah Kane Drama. In a rational society, the gaze into body and treatment of the disease are the ways of how the body is controlled by reason. Moreover, in Sarah Kane opinion, It seems that reason is the leading cause of violence, or even the root cause. Although gazing and treatment have the appearance of peace, they are not fundamentally different with violence in dealing with body. The second part focus on the dilemma of the multi-split of body. The body resists the rational society using non-rationality as a weapon when facing repression and persecution. In the process of resistance, the body was again hijacked by the non-rationality which lead to the division of rationality and non-rationality. The split on love and sex in Sarah·Kan's dramas are the concentrated representation for the division of body and soul, and the opposition of physical and psychological. The heroes gradually collapse and the body have been dismembered and random spliced in Kane's dramas, and the two elements influenced and mirrored each other. If the dilemma in the first part is revealed and criticized by the author on purpose, then the plight of multi-split is exposed in the works unconsciously.Part III displays that suicide is the ultimate state of physical self-destruction, suicide phenomenon is extremely dense in Sarah·Kane drama. The fundamental cause of suicide is the loss of meaning of existence, the loss of meaning is stemmed from the rupture of interpersonal contact and the disintegration of the world as a whole. The excessive emphasis on individual freedom has led to narcissism, and narcissism led to nihilism, finally, nihilism led to suicide of non-physical person. The last part sums up the dilemma body encountered in the first three parts, and briefly concludes the body's experience in the thought and drama fields from Nietzsche to Sarah Kane, pointing out the paradox between the body and anti-body. It tries to explore the causes of body dilemma from the power structure and ideology, and find a solution.
