At the request of the English curriculum standard,the fundamental task of English teaching in China is the full implementation of strength moral education and cultivated people of core values,carrying forward Chinese excellent culture,fully embody the English curriculum unification of instrumental and humanism,developing the students’ ability of language,culture,consciousness,thinking quality and ability to learn English subject core literacy,fully embody the English subject of special educational value.Cultivate socialist builders and successors have Chinese feelings,international vision and cross-cultural communication skills.The reform of the new curriculum gives teachers more freedom to choose textbooks.Due to the different students in different regions and classes,some adjustments should be made in the actual use of textbooks.By evaluating the process of teaching materials,we can use the advantages of teaching materials more effectively.Under this premise,whether the teachers and students are satisfied with the English teaching materials,whether they are satisfied with the modules and arrangements in the teaching materials or not,if the teachers’ existing comprehensive abilities meet the requirements of the teaching materials or not,whether they adapt to the teaching materials and give full play to the role of the teaching materials,have great research significance.According to the current situation of English teaching in senior high schools,it is necessary to investigate the current situation of usage of English teaching materials.The objects of the author’s investigation are English teachers and students of Ziyun Nationality Senior High School in Anshun city,Guizhou province.Literature review,sampling questionnaire survey and interview are adopted to study the current situation of the use of English teaching materials.This study evaluates the current English teaching materials and actual teaching needs of the school,and conducts a sampling questionnaire survey on the usage of English teaching materials by teachers and students to understand the current situation of the usage of English teaching materials,understand the understanding of teachers and students of English teaching materials,and find out the problems in the use of English teaching materials.Then,the paper discusses the causes of these problems and puts forward feasible suggestions on the use of English teaching materials,so as to provide useful references for English teachers in this school to further improve teaching and improve teaching quality. |
