| This is a report of a mock Chinese-English simultaneous interpreting of Baidu Create 2018 –AI Fintech,New Power for Finance.Baidu,as one of the largest AI and internet companies in the world,is in the vanguard of AI technology and AI finance.In order to release the latest AI technologies,businesses and solutions,Baidu Create launches annually since 2017.The forum,named AI Fintech,New Power for Finance,is one of the important parts in Baidu Create 2018.In this forum,both domestic and foreign experts of AI finance and partners of AI technology were invited to discuss the latest improvements in Baidu's AI finance.The C-E interpreting of this forum is of great significance for the foreign listeners to know more about Baidu's AI finance.The main difficulty of this task is to allocate the efforts appropriately,especially in dealing with problems in comprehension caused by accent and unclear logic,problems in memorizing resulted from high rate of delivery and high density of information content,problems in production created by the frequent use of culture-loaded words and terms.For solving these problems,the interpreter takes different tactics under the guidance of the Efforts Model.Consulting the prepared the documents,reconstructing the segment with the help of the context and delaying the response are adopted in tackling with problems in comprehension stage.Tactics like segmentation,omitting the repeated information and taking notes are used to resolve difficulties in memorizing.Other tactics like paraphrasing and addition are employed in production.The interpreter hopes that this interpreting report could provide references for her peers and also guidance for the interpreter's future interpreting work. |
