Huang Zuo,nicknamed Xizhai,Taixia Zi and styled Taiquan,was a famous scholar in the Ming Dynasty.Huang Zuo,Chen Xianzhang and Qiu Jun were called three great scholars of Guangdong in Ming Dynasty.Huang Zuo respects Cheng Yi and Zhu Xi academically as teachers,and he has made remarkable achievements in literary creation,compilation of historical records and philosophical speculation.His academic theory and works have deeply influenced future generations.However,the research on Huang Zuo’s family origin,political activities and writings in academic circles is not comprehensive,and the data are scattered,and there is no effective collation.The Chronicle of Huang Zuo examines his life stories and friendships,and at the same time,it also examines and combs the editions of his writings,trying to restore Huang Zuo’s life and academic achievements.The Chronicle of Huang Zuo collects and collates the life stories,friendships and writings of Huang Zuo,and makes textual research on them.It mainly does the following work: I.A detailed textual research is made on Huang Zuo’s lineage.II.To sort out Huang Zuo’s biographical stories and correct historical errors.III.A brief textual research and sorting out of the editions of Huang Zuo’s works.IV.On the basis of the above work,it reflects Huang Zuo’s real historical life.The Chronicle of Huang Zuo is divided into three parts: INTRODUCTION: Making some explanations towards exemplification and principle.LINEAGE: This paper mainly introduces the family background from Huang Xianzhao,the first ancestor of the Huang family to Huang Zuo.The lineage table records the family relationship of Huang Zuo’s system.CHRONICLE: The chronicle mainly arranges Huang Zuo’s life activities in chronological order,and adds the chronological series of Huang Zuo’s writings and poems.Correcting and explaining historical fallacies and writings in the form of words,as far as possible,it can provide precise time reference and abundant basic materials for Huang Zuo’s writing background.
