Research On Xue Zhangxian's Poems And His Commoner Mentality

Xue Zhangxian was known as one member of scholars in Wu area in the middle of Ming dynasty.He made friends with famous scholars in the literary and art world,such as Wu kuan,Shen zhou,Tang Yin,Zhu Yunming,Wen Zhengming,Du mu and so on.There is a place of his poems in the literary world at that time.At the moment,the literary world of Wu area opposed the rigid style of the times and advocated the ancient style.Xue Zhangxian,known for his ancient and simple style,was appreciated among the scholars of Wu area,which was of representativeness.He was born in the clan of Jiangyin,known as a learned man when he was young.Finally,he chose to retreat to the mountains to travel around in Wu area after he had tried without effects.His mentality has the common character of many scholars in the middle Ming dynasty based on similar cognition.The first chapter is about Xue Zhangxian’s family and making friends.The study of Xue Zhangxian’s family members,family history and life is focusing on the object and scope of his friends,which has laid a foundation for the study of poems and mentality of him later.The second chapter is based on Xue Zhangxian’s poetry,focusing on the interpretation and analysis of his poems,and thereby to investigate the style and characteristics of his poems.The third chapter focuses on mentaility of Xue Zhangxian as a common scholar,mainly from the perspective of politics,economy and culture in Wu area,combined with his family background and social identity.On the basis of concrete interpretation of his poems,political ideology and life attitude of him will be analyzed,to observe common mentality of other scholars with similar experience but without poems left in the world.
