Recording And Dissemination: Xun Huisheng In "Shen Pao"

The Republic Period was an important time in Xun Huisheng's performing art career.In 1919,Xun Huisheng came to Shanghai to perform,and then became a well-known opera performer.During this period,record companies scrambled to establish,plenty of them recorded for Xun Huisheng.They publicized each other and complemented each other.In the golden decade,Xun Huisheng's art career reached his top in Shanghai,which also stimulated the growth of the relevant music industry.His performance gradually reduced and suffered a lot during the War of Resistance Against Japan,and finally faded out of the public eye in Shanghai.He ended his performance in Shanghai in 1948.The comprehensive,detailed and abundant records of music in Shun Pao have a great impact on the research of Chinese modern music history.Among them,the news and historical materials,opera comments and performance advertisements about Xun Huisheng are detailed and abundant,which is a historical treasure of studying the performing of Xun Huisheng in Shanghai.This paper objectively summarizes the performance history of Xun Huisheng from Shun Pao,systematically grasps the true content reflected by music historical materials,analyzes from the perspective of career stages,report content and propaganda.thereby investigates Xun Huisheng in the Republic Period.
