With the continuous growth of national economic strength,the society has higher and higher requirements on English proficiency of talents at all levels.In recent years,against the background of national calling for general employment,China’s vocational education has ushered in a new chapter of development.However,as China’s vocational education has been in a situation of "late start and slow development" for a long time,the overall level of secondary vocational education is lower than that of general education,and there are various problems in secondary vocational English teaching.Therefore,if we want to improve the level of secondary vocational education and improve the attraction of vocational education,we must pay attention to the teaching aspect.As the leading role of teaching,how to make full use of teaching resources,understand teaching materials and improve the effectiveness of teaching materials has become an urgent problem to be solved.In order to better understand the effect of the use of the teaching materials in the high-education version in the course of practical teaching,the study is based on the study of the effectiveness of the use of the English textbook(basic module)ofthe high-education version.In the introduction part of the thesis,the author sorts and summarizes the relevant literature,and determines the thought of this study.In the first chapter,the author makes an analysis of the text of the English textbook(basic module)in the high-education version from the author’s intention,the characteristics of the teaching materials and the structure of the teaching materials,and draws up a framework for evaluating the effectiveness of the teaching materials based on the teaching material evaluation theory of Gao Ling and Cheng Xiaoyan,respectively.Two reference dimensions are provided for the use effect analysis of the teaching materials Degree:the teaching result is effective and the teaching process is effective.Then in the second chapter,the author describes the concrete process of the research.Firstly,the author chooses X middle vocational school as the research site,and chooses eight on-the-job English teachers as the research object.By means of interview and classroom observation,this paper makes an in-depth investigation and study on the situation of English teaching in X secondary vocational school,and analyzes whether teachers can use teaching materials effectively in practical teaching activities.Then in the third chapter,the author analyzes the causes of the failure of teachers’use of teaching materials from the aspects of teachers,students and schools,and finally concludes that teachers’own factors are the main factors.Finally,at the end of the article,the author loses the use of the teaching materials in the previous chapter.After an in-depth analysis of the cause of the effect,the relevant knowledge can be combined to provide some reference suggestions for the effective use of the teaching materials for teachers.Through the research,it is found that the failure of teachers’use of teaching materials mainly comes from four aspects:teachers’emotional attitude,knowledge and skills,idealistic consciousness,and strategies and methods.In order to solve the problem of the failure of using teaching materials,secondary vocational English teachers should overcome all difficulties and adopt attitudes.Ideas,knowledge,strategies and other aspects of improvement,effectively improve the effectiveness of the use of teaching materials.
