This paper is mainly written because of the author’s participation in the "National Language Survey-Second Language of Longlibuyi,Guizhou Province" in 2016.The investigation team conducted the local Buyi language use in Changla Village,Huishui County,Guizhou Province.Questionnaires and interviews,the author then spent another year conducting a network tracking survey.This article is based on the materials obtained from these surveys.Huishui County Changla Village is a highly inhabited Buyi village.Through on-the-spot investigation,we find that Buyi language is widely used in both the old and the young.Buyi language is mostly acquired naturally.The family and the whole village have a strong atmosphere of mother tongue,and the local people have a strong sense of identity with their mother tongue.The number of Buyi monolinguals in Changla village is relatively small,and most of them are old people around 70 or 80 years old.It is very common for villagers to use both Chinese and English.In this village,Buyi people hold an open and positive attitude towards Chinese and Putonghua,and are willing to learn and use them.Based on the materials obtained from the field survey,this paper takes the use of Buyi language in Changla village as a case study,collects abundant first-hand materials on the current situation of Buyi language use,the situation of both language use and language attitudes in Changla village by means of questionnaires,field observations and interviews,and compares qualitative and quantitative research methods.Combining with this,the author tries to make a systematic and comprehensive study of Buyi language use,language attitude and language concurrent use in the survey sites.The study of the language of ethnic villages helps us to strengthen our understanding of the language life in ethnic minority areas,further reveal the language attitude of the people in ethnic minority areas towards their mother tongue and concurrent language,and explore the dynamic development law of the language use of ethnic minority groups under the impact of the mainstream cultural values,which is of guiding significance to the language life in ethnic minority areas.At the same time,it enriches the study of minority languages and cultures in theory and practice,and promotes the disciplinary value of sociolinguistics and applied linguistics.This paper is divided into five parts:Part Ⅰ:Introduction.This paper introduces the origin and significance of topic selection,relevant research results in this field,research methods,survey points and the basic situation of sample survey.Part Ⅱ:Descriptive language use status quo.According to the survey data,this paper gives a comprehensive description of the use of Buyi language in Changla Village,and compares the differences between Buyi and Chinese bilingual abilities of the villagers from the perspectives of gender,age,educational level and occupational type.The third part:the focus of this paper.This paper makes an in-depth analysis of the Buyi language attitude in Changla Village,mainly from the following five aspects:their mother tongue,Chinese dialect,Putonghua,their attitudes towards the language choice of the younger generation and their views on the language use of other members of society,and makes a comprehensive analysis and in-depth excavation of its causes.Part Ⅳ:Predict the development trend of Buyi language use in Changla village from both long-term and short-term aspects.The government and its relevant functional departments,scholars and non-governmental organizations,language users and language inheritors have put forward relevant protection measures.The fifth part:the conclusion of the full text.Summarize the discussion of the full text,clarify the relevant conclusions,and point out the shortcomings of this paper.
