Bao Xun is a farm book in the middle of the Qing Dynasty.It contains many experiences and proverbs about agricultural production.And many of these proverbs have already been identified,which is helpful for studying the source,meaning and evolution of proverbs.Moreover,these proverbs also have age color and spoken color.It is not only reliable corpus for studying modern Chinese,but also a material for studying agricultural production in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,especially in Shandong.Therefore,Bao Xun has high research value both in the study of proverbs and in the study of agricultural production.The introduction part mainly explains the reason of the topic selection,the research status of the subject and the research methods.The first chapter is the basic situation of proverbs in Bao Xun.First define the proverb,and then determine the scope and object of the thesis.There are four main sources of the proverbs: quoted from ancient books,from historical stories,collected from the folks at that time,and first seen in Bao Xun.The second chapter discusses the classification and characteristics of the proverbs of Bao Xun.The slang of Bao Xun can be classified from four perspectives: content,time,region and structure.In terms of content,the proverbs in Bao Xun not only involve agricultural production,but also involve the common sense of life,philosophy of life and meteorological phenology,and are rich in characteristics.Proverbs are a summary of the long-term production and life practice of the people.They often reflect some objective laws of production and nature,and are therefore scientific.At the same time,due to the relative backwardness of ancient science and technology,people’s level of understanding is limited,resulting in many experiences.Backward or even superstitious;sometimes people mistake the accidental phenomenon as an inevitable objective law and backwardness.In addition,some proverbs also reflect the characteristics of regionality,refinement and the coexistence of deep meaning and shallow meaning.There are still some difficult proverbs in Bao Xun.These slang words are difficult to understand,some are due to the fallacy of certain words in the process of circulation,some are because we can not understand the historical background of the proverbs,and through the interpretation and translation of these slang words.Can solve this problem.The third chapter is about the evolution of the proverbs of Bao Xun,mainly including synchronic differences and diachronic evolution.The diachronic evolution is mainly discussed in terms of both form and semantics.The evolution of form is divided into five sub-sections: the substitution of components and the adjustment of structure.The fourth chapter is about the rhetorical devices used in the proverbs of Bao Xun,including dual,parallelism,comparison,metonymy,personification and loopback.Among them,the most used is the dual method.The useof these rhetorical techniques enhances the expression of the proverbs of Bao Xun,making it more vivid and easy to remember.Finally,the conclusion part summarizes the research results of the thesis.
