A Comparative Study Of Three Rhyme Books In The Yuan Dynasty

This thesis takes the three rhymes of the Yuan Dynasty《Yun-hui(<韵会>)》、《Meng-gu-zi-yun(<蒙古字韵>)》and《Zhong-yuan-yin-yun(<中原音韵>)》as the research object,using the method of description and the method of calculating the distance of the sound system to compare the rhythmic structure of three rhyme books.Specifically,the phonology of《Yun-hui(<韵会>)》、《Meng-gu-zi-yun(<蒙古字韵>)》and《Zhong-yuan-yin-yun(<中原音韵>)》are compared with the Middle Ancient phonology,building comparison of feature items(parameters)of three rhyme books,and the rhythmic structure of these three kinds are calculated according to the parameter values.The full text is divided into three chapters.The first chapter summarizes the general research on the phonology of the three rhymes.The second chapter compares the phonology of these three rhymes books with the Middle Ancient phonology,and finds that《Zhong-yuan-yin-yun(<中原音音韵>)》has ahugedifferencewith《Yun-hui(<韵会>)》and《Meng-gu-zi-yun(<蒙古字韵>)》in terms of sound,rhyme and tone.But,+Yun-hui(<韵会>)》and +Meng-gu-zi-yun《蒙古字韵》》phonological features are more similar.The third chapter establishes the feature items(parameters)of the three rhyme books,and uses the Daisy model to calculate the phonological distance of the three rhyme books.It is concluded that the difference between the phonology of《Zhong-yuan-yin-yun(<中原音韵>)》and《Yun-hui(<韵会>)》isgreaterthan the difference between《Zhong-yuan-yin-yun(<中原音韵>);and《Meng-gu-zi-yun(<蒙古字韵>)》,which is greater than the《Yun-hui(<韵会>)》and the+Meng-gu-zi-yun(<蒙古字韵>)》.The calculation results are consistent with the comparative experience of Chapter 2.The difference between the phonology of《Yun-hui(<韵会>)》and《Meng-gu-zi-yun(<蒙古字韵>)》is medium difference,and the difference between the phonology of《Yun-hui((韵会>)》and+Zhong-yuan-yin-yun(<中原音韵>)》is great difference.The difference between the phonology of《Meng-gu-zi-yun(<蒙古字韵>)》and《Zhong-yuan-yin-yun(<中原音韵>)》is also great difference.
