A Multi-angle Study Of The "X Is X" Construction

“Gai X Jiu X”is a structure format which is often used in modern Chinese spoken language.It is composed of the constant term "Gai" followed by the same word "Jiu".At present,there are few research results on the “ Gai X Jiu X ”construction.Guided by the three theories of planar grammar,this paper,based on previous studies and a large number of corpus analysis,examines the internal composition,syntactic function,semantic relationship,pragmatic value and integration degree of“Gai X Jiu X”construction.The first chapter is the introduction,which introduces the significance of the topic selection and the research scope of the “Gai X Jiu X”construction.The main purpose of the research is to explore the specific significance of the construction through the analysis of the construction.This paper also introduces the research results of predecessors,as well as the research theories and methods mainly used in this paper.This paper mainly adopts three plane theories,the subjectivity and subjectification theory in cognitive linguistics theory,and the concept integration theory.The second chapter is the component analysis and syntactic function of“Gai X Jiu X”.In this chapter,the constant terms "Gai" and "Jiu" in the construction of "Gai X Jiu X" are explained firstly.Then the composition of the variable "X" in the construction is analyzed,including the syllable and part of speech of "X";Finally,it analyzes the syntactic components that the construction mainly acting in the sentence.The third chapter is the semantic and pragmatic analysis of “Gai X Jiu X”.This chapter is divided into two parts.The first part firstly analyzes the semantics of each component of the construction and the semantic characteristics of the whole construction.Than we analyze the internal and external semantic relations of the construction.The second part analyzes the subjective usage and expressioncharacteristics of the“Gai X Jiu X”construction from the perspective of pragmatics.The fourth chapter is the formation and integration analysis of the“Gai X Jiu X”construction.This chapter first analyzes its formation mechanism according to the conceptual integration theory,and then briefly expounds and analyzes some variations generated by this construction.The fifth chapter gives a conclusion.Firstly,we summarize the viewpoints and conclusions,then points out the possible innovations,and finally points out the deficiencies in this passage.
