| The theory of "defamiliarization" was proposed by Russian formalist critic Victor Shklowski;defamiliarization is the core concept of Russian formalism;it is also an important milestone and mature symbol in the history of Western "defamiliarization"history. This theory emphasizes the breaking of conventional rationality in form and content and the internal relationship between things that are not related to the appearance. Many factors oppose conflicts, deviate from conventional common sense, and make the depicted objects unfamiliar, and its form becomes difficult.Increase the difficulty of feeling and the extension of the time dimension to maximize the aesthetic effect. This paper attempts to analyze the works of a contemporary and surrealist artist,Meredith Oppenheim,"Object," which is a typical creation combined with the theory of"defamiliarization" and combines with other modern and contemporary works of art.The application of "defamiliarization" theory in modern and contemporary visual art and the application of the method of defamiliarization play an essential role in art. |
