As a state of etiquette,filial piety plays an important role and occupies an important position in Chinese history.Since the development of patrilineal clan society,the concept of filial piety has profoundly influenced the development of Chinese society and every Chinese as part of Chinese traditional culture.The concept of filial piety has gradually been transformed from the original feelings used to regulate the love and respect of children for their parents to the basic rules that people must follow in life and life,and has become the foundation of life.It has also extended to the social field.It has become a political tool in ancient China,as a tool used by rulers to regulate social relations,to regulate the complex relationship between monarchs and subordinates,superiors and subordinates,and elders and young people in the entire society,and to strengthen the hierarchical order of ancient society.American scholars Luosiwen and Anlezhe once said: "It is no surprise that filial piety is one of the most fundamental and explicit values of the Chinese people,especially early Confucianism.The traditional filial morality concept as a super-historical moral category does not only exist in traditional society,but also exists in modern China in social reform.In the current era,it is of great practical significance to fully tap and exert the value of our traditional filial moral values.This paper first analyzes the background of the formation of traditional filial morality from three aspects of economy,politics,religion and culture,and then from the seven aspects of material dimension,body dimension,status dimension,power dimension,emotional dimension,social dimension and ritual dimension.It expounds the basic connotation of traditional filial morality concept,and combs the evolution of traditional filial morality concept in light of the development of ancient Chinese social history.On this basis,closely combined with the reality of China’s current social development,it points out that traditional filial morality is incompatible with the development of contemporary society: excessive formalization and hypocrisy;excessive complexity and generalization;generalization andalienation.Finally,the focus is on the needs of the current society and the development of the future era,and proposes ways and means of constructing new filial morality from several major levels,such as individuals,families,society,and the state.I hope that we can further explore and exert the contemporary values of filial morality and build a new moral concept that conforms to the spirit of the times. |
