Research On The Taian Visiting Stele In The Qianjia Period Of Qing Dynasty

Carrying forward the pragmatic style in the early Qing dynasty,the epigraphy reached its pinnacle in the the Qianlong and Jiaqing period,the researches of scholars on the epigraphy are more universal and the activities of researching the steles are also unprecedented.The first use of epigraphy is to meet the demand to prove the classics and verify the history and the epigraphy also can be used to research the calligraphy and characters.Shandong is regarded as the key place to search the epigraphs and Tai'an in which the “chief of the five sacred mountains” Mount Tai is located is regarded as one of areas in which Shandong gold stone steles are comparably intensive and plenty of tablet inscriptions leave behind in Tai'an in the long-term cultural accumulation.The activities of searching the epigraphs in Tai'an area of the scholars in the Qianlong and Jiangqi period included the works including the discovery on the tablets,Zhuituo,connoisseurship and collection,catalogue description and so on and had produced the positive influences on the transmission of Tai'an tablets.The article summarizes the epigraphy communication among the epigraphy scholars and discusses the significance of searching the epigraphs through carding the epigraph searching activities in Tai'an in the Qianlong and Jiangqi period.
