Towns And Growth: A Study On The Narrative Of Towns In Lunei's Novels

Lu Nei is one of the representative writers of the "post-70s" novels.Since 2007,he has published six novels one after another,which has formed a distinctive creative feature.Lu's works focus on urban life in the 1990 s,describing the living conditions of technical school students,factory workers and third-rate college students.Starting from his own life experience,Lu Nei shows the confused spirit of young people in the period of social transition,as well as the prosperity and decline of the whole town's factories.His works reflect on the development of cities and towns and show concern for people's living conditions in the course of recalling personal growth and urban history.His works have a wide acceptance because of the humorous language.The thesis is divided into three chapters.The first chapter elaborates the narrative field of the novel.Lunei's novels have unique narrative space.The story takes place in technical schools,chemical factories and third-rate universities.The protagonists of the novel mostly live in small towns.Daicheng,an industrial city,is the center of town narrative.In the process of industrial transformation from prosperity to decline,the remaining problems of urban construction were obvious and the city was facing the transition dilemma.The second chapter analyzes the growth of youth in urban narration.The protagonist is filled with the sadness of youth at the end of the century and the idle urban youth vent their exuberant vitality through violence.In addition to violence,young people's growth also includes the pursuit of women,who bring them spiritual enlightenment.Finally,it analyses the writer's concern and reflection on the growth experience of urban youth.The third chapter elaborates on the narrative strategies of the towns in his novels.His works mostly adopt the narrative way of interweaving reality and memory,displaying calm and restrained narrative tone when describing violence and youth confusion.Finally,the author combs the writer's writing path and analyses his achievements and shortcomings.
