The Use Of Traditional Inlay Craftsmanship In Contemporary Lacquer Art

This paper mainly expounds the traditional inlaying techniques of lacquer art and their changes and adhibition in contemporary art.Lacquer art is developing until now,in every era,people explored new lacquer art technique skills to develop the lacquer art.They went with the times,inheritance and innovation are important factors and driving force in the development of lacquer art.This paper is mainly divided into three chapters.In first chapter,I briefly describe the development of Chinese ancient traditional lacquer art.Taking the development of Mosaic technique as the main line,introduces the Mosaic materials,manifestation modes and bonding materials commonly used in the ancient process.In second chapter,mainly describe the adhibition of inlay materials in contemporary lacquer art.In the turbulent period of history,the development of lacquer art was affected and once stagnated.In the middle of the last century,with the continuous efforts of artists,lacquer art finally gained new vitality and derived a new kind of painting,which expanded new fields and get the inheritance and development.It is the key to combine lacquer art and contemporary art to innovate and retain traditional handicraft.From the perspective of Mosaic techniques and the use of Mosaic materials,I analyze from the artist applies traditional techniques to contemporary art,innovates traditional lacquer techniques and reflects the change in the artist’s concept.They transforms the personalized ideas into tangible things that people can perceive.Lacquer art is also used as the "medium" to express ideas,showing a broader side of lacquer art.The last chapter is about my own graduation work,my inspiration comes from origami art.Like lacquer art,origami art is an ancient handicraft with a history of precipitation,so the combination of this two art can more powerfully express the traditional Oriental culture and artistic spirit.About the technique of making,I use eggshell Mosaic technique,which almost covers the whole picture,it is an interesting choice and an experimental attempt.The Mosaic material is also endowed with a new interpretation in the picture.It gets rid of the shackles of shape and color,and more importantly reflects the artistic value of the material itself.With the development of science,technology and economy,the types of inlaid materials have increased and artists have more choices.However,the contemporaneity of lacquer art not only depends on the amount of materials can be used both the new and old ones,but also on the exploration of unique artistic language of lacquer art to create works with contemporary consciousness when using traditional media for creation.
