This paper studies the rhetorical style and the art of expression of the tactful and cautious style of Zuozhuan,and studies it from the perspective of the context in the spring and autumn period and the warring period.This paper is divided into four chapters.The introduction is a summary of the research results of the rhetorical art of Zuozhuan in ancient and modern times,as well as the research object,significance and research method of this paper.The second chapter combined with the social context of the spring and autumn period and the warring states period,expounds the characteristics of Zuozhuan's language expression,such as speaking out of courtesy,speaking out of history,speaking out of elegance.The third chapter uses the modern rhetoric theory method,carries on the concrete through analysis to the metaphor,the borrowing,the taboo,the exaggeration,the dual,the thimble and so on characteristic rhetoric case which appears in Zuozhuan,analyzes these rhetoric effect which the rhetoric case is graceful and cautious and the sentiment speech.Chapter four discusses the careful and simple word selection in ZuoZhuan,then analyze the characteristics of counsels above court and counsels outside court,including admonitions about state affairs or war,or about the morality and conduct of kings,and the choice of words in diplomatic,war,league and other occasions of deliberation.This paper focuses on the analysis of the vivid corpus in Zuzhuan from the perspectives of context,rhetoric and words,and combines the theoretical knowledge of the relevant disciplines such as philology,exegesis,pragmatics,cultural linguistics and rhetorical psychology to construct the full text,and interprets the rhetorical style of Zuozhuan with the empirical method of exemplification.
