Abstract/Summary:
This English-Chinese translation material is based on chapter 1 of Introducing Globalization: Ties,Tensions and Uneven Integration,written by Matthew Sparke,Director of Comprehensive Social Sciences,University of Washington.This book is intended to help people understand the knowledge and key points of globalization and to identify and explore the economic,political and social linkages that form the contemporary global interdependence.It covers not only the emergence of transnational corporations and global commodity chains,global health challenges and policies,worker solidarity and global labour market issues,but also the indispensable role of globalization in both economic and political fields.In this paper,the author analyzes the characteristics of business texts from three aspects: vocabulary,sentence pattern and text,summarizes the translation skills and strategies,such as the application of the methods of Amplification and Omission in the business text,and accumulates the translation experience,which is based on the specific examples of this work.The purpose is to provide reference and help for such translation in the future,and to promote the good development of transnational commercial activities.
