Wang Kuncheng's Calligraphy Research

Wang Kuncheng is a old cadres and a famous calligrapher who combine ability with political integrity and with a lofty virtue worthy of respect.As the leader for a long time.He is a senior official among contemporary calligraphers in Liaoning Province,and he is also a famous calligrapher among senior officials.He has been fond of calligraphy and literature since his childhood,and he has been struggling for most of his life in his poems and calligraphy.And both of his poetry and calligraphy have exerted a lot of influence on the contemporary society.In calligraphy,he is good at Running Hand and Official Script,especially Running Hand.This paper aims to make a systematic and in-depth study on Wang Kuncheng’s calligraphy.And change the current situation of insufficient research.The research is divided into five parts.The first part.The subject is introduced from the research status and significance of Wang Kuncheng’s calligraphy.Through collecting data,it is found that the research on his calligraphy is almost blank,which further explains the necessity of studying his calligraphy.In the second part.Firstly,I summarize the life of Wang Kuncheng.This part is the basis of understanding a calligrapher.To be an excellent calligrapher,his background and growth environment is inseparable.Secondly,it summarizes the main artistic activities of Wang Kuncheng,including calligraphy,poetry and painting.The third part is an overview of Wang Kuncheng’s calligraphy,including his calligraphy origin,calligraphy skills and the diversity of his style.This chapter is the most important part of the whole article.First of all,from the origin of Wang Kuncheng’s calligraphy,according to the vertical and horizontal time axis to cross contrast.The vertical investigation,the context by his study from the ancients.The horizontal investigation his calligrapher style by his influences from his contacts with contemporary calligraphers.To sum up,his calligraphy has both the root of Yan Liu and the long of all families.In his brush and ink.He has the charm of Wang Xizhi and the imposing manner of Huang Tingjian,free and easy.In addition to Running Hand,he work hard on Han Li,take the style from Eave Tile.when,and is a slightly similar with Ning Fucheng of Liaoning Province.Secondly,his calligraphy skills are discussed from three parts:brushwork,conjunctive form and arrangement,which is a specific analysis of his calligraphy.Finally,there is the diversity of his calligraphy.In this section,a classified study was made on Wang Kuncheng’s Running Script,Fficial Script and Regular Script,and a more in-depth and specific analysis was made on his calligraphy art.The fourth part is a specific analysis of his thoughts on calligraphy.These theories are not only the inheritance of predecessors,but also have their own insights.They are the summary of Wang Kuncheng’s experience in learning calligraphy.The fifth part discusses the influence of Wang Kuncheng’s calligraphy,which is divided into two parts,the constructive effect on the modern Liaoning calligraphy circle and the influence on Liaoning calligraphy.His calligraphy has exerted a great influence on modern Liaoning calligraphy and even the Northeast calligraphy.
