| A psychological book,The Discovery of the Self: A Study in Psychological Cure,published by Routledge Press in 2017,is a book about psychoanalytic therapy written by the author based on her own disease-healing experience.The third chapter of The Discovery of the Self: A Study in Psychological Cure was selected as the English original text in this translation practice.This chapter mainly introduces the purpose,concrete practices and shortcomings of psychoanalysis.The translation practice report consists of four parts,including task description,process preparation,translation process and post-translation matters.The original text is simple and formal,and the language is plain and easy to understand.In the process of translation,the author mainly applied conversion,addition and selection of word meaning to solve difficult points in lexical aspects.Towards various comparative sentences,the author applies such translation methods as division,negation etc.The author made a summary on different translation methods according to different types of words and comparative sentences,and then wrote the practice report in this way.Therefore,the author hopes this report will later play as a guiding role in the translation of similar texts. |
