Autistic group are always isolated on an island,and they can’t understand or be understood by others.They are known as "children from the stars" because of their language barriers and social barriers.Children with autism is a wide range of developmental disorders,but has not yet to find the exact etiology,but not completely unable to treatment.Nowadays,the most commonly used treatment at home and abroad are continuous rehabilitation training,but there are still defects,such as monotonous form,no system of training,the therapist lacks professionalism and so on.In order to compensate for the defects of traditional training methods,art therapy based on psychological theory is gradually applied to the rehabilitation education training of autistic group.Therapeutic art education as a necessary supplement,to enrich the form of rehabilitation therapy,through the intuitive graphics and material figure instead of words,not only can improve the cognitive ability of group with autism,but also could improve autistic group’s verbal and nonverbal expression ability.However,current research on the design of the autistic group in China is very little,in recent years,although a few products designed for autistic group,and stay in the use function of interactive media,did not provide a systematic rehabilitation plan for autistic group.What’s more,the systematic visual therapy for group with autism is almost blank.Visual art and visual design from the date of birth,it has an inseparable relationship with art,it just like art are connected to the human body and mind,spirit,has the value of healing,however,the existing design function has neglected the function of healing.Aiming at this problem,the author uses the interdisciplinary research method,literature research method,case study method,user interviews,on-the-spot investigation and other research methods,will be comb and summarize the research achievements of different disciplines what scattered in particular fields such as pedagogy,psychology,medicine,design,and combining between the visual art design and art therapy,to explore on how to improve cognitive function in group with autism visual healing design research.This study is based on art therapy research results at home and abroad,combined with the cognitive characteristics of group with autism and cognitive impairment of performance,put forward a set of accord with autistic group cognitive rule and research scheme which has the function of healing.Under the guidance of relevant professional teachers,the author makes a case study of autistic group who is a special artist at autism group’s art center of the second children’s palace in Guangzhou to explore the visual art design to the healing effect of autistic group cognitive impairment,and applied in practice and perfect the theory.In cooperation with professional therapists,the Guangzhou second children’s palace art therapy center for research in the design of the visual healing for experiment and evaluation,the results show that the "visual healing" effect to improve cognitive function of group with autism is relatively obvious,and gain the art therapist’s recognition and praise.The success of this subject shows that with the help of art therapy,reasonably develop the healing function of visual art design,can effectively improve the cognitive ability of group with autism,and made fruitful exploration for specialization design for autistic group.
