In ancient times,cultural communication was achieved by being based on a certain purpose or common interest.Therefore,war became one of the main ways of cultural communication.The 13 th century's Mongolian history was a history of military expansion.In 1206,Genghis khan established the Mongol empire,which ended the long disruption of Mongolian society and promoted the development of economy,material life and spiritual civilization of Mongolian society.Since then,the expansion of Mongolian army was begun in all directions.During 1218-1258,Mongolian army campaigned westward for three times,which ended the long-term interruption of "silk road" and reconnected Eurasia,building a bridge for understanding,cultural communication and development between east and west countries.During 1211-1279,Genghis khan and his posterity campaigned the Central Plains,and finally united China,deepening the cultural connections among Mongol,Han and other ethnic groups,which not only influenced politics,economy and cultural life of the Central Plains,but also attached uniqueness to Mongolian nomadic culture.All these developments and changes were closely related to the communicational activities happened in the Mongol war.In the first chapter of this paper,based on the Mongolian literature,the author summarized the causes,processes and results of the Mongolians' war by using the methods of social history.In the second chapter,the author further analyzed relevant books and academic papers by using content analysis of communicational research to highlight the communicational phenomenon in Mongol tribes war,the relationship among Mongol,Buddhism and the west in Mongolian westwards campaign and the development and changes of Mongolian civilization.The third chapter mainly discussed Mongolian war's communicational effect by illustrating Gutenberg's innovation of movable-type printing,Buddhist influence on Mongolian thoughts and culture,and cultural fusion of Mongol and Han nationality etc.
